Look what I got! Urban Decay Glinda Palette

Well, I did it, I bought it! I saw it while I was out shopping yesterday and couldn't resist. Debenhams had 10% off all beauty products so it was £31.50.

It is very well presented, and so beautiful. My only criticism is that in the palette there is no space to put the lip colour, it just slots in inside the cardboard box as you can see.

These are my favourite shades, I think they look so unique and look so striking.

This is just a look that I tried which I followed from a Youtube tutorial. It is a little more dramatic that what I would usually wear, but I really do like it. The shades are very pigmented and very easy to blend out. I think Urban Decay must have changed their formula in recent years as I had an old palette of theirs and I threw it in the bin! I had read a lot of reviews saying there is quite a lot of fall out especially with the most glittery shades, the silver and the gold. But I really did not think it was that bad, in fact for me I noticed barely any fall out at all.
The eyeliner is fabulous, I love it - it is a lot darker on the eye than I expected - I used it on my lower lid. The lip colour is fine, very neutral but I think a more pink/peach shade would have been more suitable to include with this palette. It is nice to apply and it is kind of a lipstick/lipgloss combo. It is as pigmented as a lipstick but there is a little bit of stickiness to it.

I can't wait to try out more looks with this palette! I will post more when I do.

Nails of the Day

I love gold nails! I used an Essence polish from their Twilight collection (A Piece of Forever) with Sally Hensen Complete Salon Manicure (Gilded Lily) over it. I love the result!

Blog giveaway - we have a winner!

A huge congrats to Gail T. who has won the OPI James Bond set! And a big thank you to everyone else who entered and who is following me. I am now nearing 60 followers which I just cannot believe, I am overwhelmed by everyone's support and I just hope that what I do on this blog provides at least some sort of insight to what products I buy and what I would recommend.

Thanks again everyone! I may do another giveaway soon :)

To buy or not to buy?

I absolutely love the look of this Urban Decay Limited Edition. It's the Glinda Palette which is one of two palettes released to coincide with the new Disney movie Oz the Great and Powerful. Now, I love the Wizard of Oz, which I must admit is attracting me to this palette anyway. It comes in a lovely tin and the shades are all beautiful and I must say, very unique. I haven't ever found shades which are similar to these. My only problem is, about five years ago I bought an Urban Decay palette which I absolutely hated. I actually ended up throwing it in the bin. The colours were very dry and not very pigmented. And as such, I have kind of avoided all Urban Decay products. From swatches and reviews I have seen on various blogs and youtube videos, this palette looks so beautiful and the shades are right up my street. Should I splash out and get it? Or will I be disappointed?

I started this blog just over a month ago and I can't believe the amount of support I have gained already. For reaching 50 followers, I have decided to do a giveaway, just to thank everyone who has viewed or is following this blog. I really appreciate each and every one of you! So I have chosen something very special to giveaway! It is the OPI James Bond mini collection.

The shades are Goldeneye, The Spy Who Loved Me, The World is Not Enough and Live and Let Die. They are all beautiful shades! I might go back and buy another one of these collections for myself... :)

Unfortunately, nail polishes cannot be shipped internationally so it will have to be UK and Ireland entries only! I am sorry! :(

Good luck everyone and I will close the giveaway this coming Friday 8th March 2013 at 9pm! You must be a GFC follower to enter! Just leave a comment below on what you would like to see next on this blog!

Beyonce Heat Rush Perfume

I saw this 30ml perfume was on special offer in Semi Chem for £9.99!

The tester smelled absolutely beautiful so I thought I would buy it. It is such a nice, fresh, almost tropical smelling perfume. According to the Perfume Shop website, it has top notes of passion fruit, blood orange, Brazilian cherry and heart notes of yellow tiger orchid, mango blossom and orange hibiscus.

I love fruity perfumes, and because I feel spring in the air I really wanted a nice new, fresh scent! Plus the 30ml bottle is the perfect size for your handbag. Beautiful!

Along Came Betty Products from Tesco

Look how cute these are! I saw them on special offer in Tesco today, there is 1/3 off the price of all the products. They all looked lovely! Here is what I got:

So these are obviously a cheaper alternative of Soap and Glory, which is a brand I have never tried but I know a lot of people love their products. With the offer on the Along Came Betty products, most things were around £3-£4. The packaging is just so adorable. I have not yet tried them out properly as yet, but just testing them on my hand the moisturiser smells absolutely amazing, the eye cream feels so hydrating and the face wipes have the most amazing scent. And they all look nice on my bathroom shelf!
