New NYC Nail Polishes!

Of course while browsing Superdrug recently I came across the new NYC polishes which I feel like I have been waiting ages for after seeing some blog reviews on them! I couldn't leave without them, I was pretty restrained though and only bought 2. It was hard to choose which ones to pick because all of the colours are amazing!

First up is this baby pink shade called "Astoria Allure". This one is from the Gel Gloss range and I absolutely think this one truly has a gel like finish. It is super glossy and lasted me four days which is just insane! I love this colour so much. It's such a girly pink and is just a really versatile colour to wear.

Next is "Statue of Liberty" which honestly is the most fabulous colour I have seen. My photos do not do it justice because it has a shimmer to it as well, it was so difficult to capture on camera! (Also sorry for the low quality phone pictures!)  But anyway, as much as I adore this colour I didn't really get on with this polish. That is because I am a total disaster at applying pastel colours. They end up looking really streaky and gloopy on me! I definitely feel like I need 2 coats of this polish to make it more opaque but that is where I am going wrong. When I apply the 2nd coat it completely ruins it and I end up having to remove it! Can anyone please tell me how best to apply colours like these? I am so dying to wear this polish but just haven't perfected how to apply it!

Both these polishes cost me just over £3.00 in total in Superdrug, and as always I think NYC nail polishes are the best out there, they out perform some of the high end and most expensive brands out there! They are incredibly cheap, have a wonderful texture and finish to them and are just amazing nail polishes!

Christmas Nails featuring Barry M & Max Factor!

I bought these 2 nail polishes while browsing in Superdrug one day… Actually I had been wanting to try the Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquers for a while, and I fell in love with this shade "Radiant Ruby". It's just a gorgeous, deep red. The gloss and finish of this polish is stunning. But I had to add a little bit of glitter! I could not resist the Barry M Nail Paint "Jingle Bells". This will definitely be my go-to nail polish this Christmas! It looks fantastic layered over Radiant Ruby!

It is a mix of little glitter strands, red flakes and gold glitter. But here and there are little holographic stars which are so cute and very festive!

Already I am planning to wear this nail polish combo on Christmas day!

Bargain Christmas False Nails from Primark

A couple of weeks ago I went to Primark and while I am not usually a fan of false nails, I saw that there was a huge selection of festive themed nails, and at only £1 per pack how could I resist? In fact I liked the sparkly snow scene nails so much that I picked up 2 sets of them!

I like these red ones that I got, but first I wanted to try out the sparkly blue ones!

They don't look too bad for only being £1! The only thing I will say about them is that the shapes and length of them are a little erratic. I couldn't find a decent sized one in the pack for my thumbs, and while the rest of my nails looked nice and long, I had to make do with a short, square thumb nail! Still, that is  a minor complaint I suppose!

It's hard for me to get used to wearing false nails, it has taken every effort to type this post up while wearing them, but of course they are perfect for over the Christmas season!

New Nail Polishes from NYC! Crystal Couture & Strip Me Off base coat

NYC were my go-to brand for nail polishes for a long time. I hadn't bought any of their polishes in a long time though (trying to cut back as I already have so many!) but while passing the NYC stand in my local chemist I noticed some new beauties… Crystal Couture! I couldn't leave without getting at least one, so I chose the sparkly purple named "NY Princess".

Also I bought the Strip Me Off base coat to give it a try! Glitter nail polishes are such a pain to remove so I thought this would come in handy!

NY Princess is such a beautiful nail polish! I applied one layer of Strip Me Off base coat and three coats of NY Princess. It is a gorgeous shade of purple packed full of glitters. I love wearing this, it is perfect for the party season. The other shades in the Crystal Couture collection looked very festive too, a beautiful glittery red and gold! I must get them next time!

The Strip Me Off base coat works really well, all my nails peeled off in one piece. The only problem was, they started peeling off throughout the day, when I wanted my nail polish to remain intact! I don't think I would use this again for fear of losing all my nails before the day is out! It is rather therapeutic however being able to peel off your nail polish with such ease, absent-mindedly while watching TV!

NYC remains my top brand for budget nail polishes. In fact I think their nail polishes perform better than some expensive ones I have tried. I can't remember exactly how much these ones cost me, I have a feeling they were £1.99 each. What a bargain!

What do you think of these nail polishes? Should I give Strip Me Off another try?

OPI My Address is Hollywood -Nail Polish

How cute is this nail polish? I got this one recently from Amazon and I love it. It's not too "in your face" - it's a lovely shade of pink with a very subtle shimmer.

As always with OPI polishes I was able to apply this one like a dream. I used 3 thin coats in the photos.  I can get a good 4 or 5 days out of this polish, which is absolutely amazing for me!

I am not really into pink nail polishes so much, but I am quite fond of this because the colour is a little bit more "grown up" and not a Barbie pink colour. Also, I really love the name! It makes me feel so glamorous!

I tried (and failed) to capture the shimmer of this polish, it is quite subtle but you will see a soft golden shimmer throughout the polish.

OPI - "Lincoln Park at Midnight" - Autumn nails!

I love this nail polish for Autumn. It's a beautiful, intense, deep purple with shimmer. It applied beautifully and lasted for a good 5 days with no chipping. I have never had any problems with OPI nail polishes and this is no exception. Definitely a new favourite of mine!

Isadora Sugar Crush Nails - the nicest nail polishes ever! :)

I got my first Sugar Crush - "Coral Crush" last summer, and wore it almost constantly. Now I feel the Spring coming, I resurrected my summer favourite and while on a recent trip to Debenhams I decided to pick up 2 more.

This is Ocean Crush, a lovely turquoise blue with gold shimmer. This shade actually reminds me of the ocean! It is the most unusual and beautiful colour, and I think it looks incredible on.

This is Candy Crush! I think this one is my new favourite! I don't usually wear pinks but I thought this looked divine. It is the cutest, girliest shade of pink. This one actually has chunkier glitter particles too. It looks absolutely flawless on your nails, and it seems to have the best wear time out of these three polishes.

And here is my first love, Coral Crush! Beautiful orange with gold glitter. For me, when I first saw this last year, it just looked so different and unlike any polish I had ever seen. I adored this polish last year, and sadly I am almost finished my bottle. I will definitely repurchase if these are still available. This shade just epitomises summer for me.

I do not usually like "textured" nail polishes and at first I didn't like how they felt gritty on my nails, but nevertheless, the shades are so breathtaking and striking that I do not mind the texture. And for such glittery polishes, they are incredibly easy to remove which makes them a winner for me! I hate the struggle of removing glitter polishes!

So to sum up why do I love these polishes - amazing unusual colours, excellent wear time and easy to remove. What more could you want in a polish!

NOTD : OPI Call Me Gwen-Ever

This polish is from the Amazing Spider-Man collection, I spotted it while browsing on Amazon one night and I couldn't resist.
I have had this nail polish in my collection for a few months now. I love anything orange and the colour of this polish did not disappoint me. Yes it is orange but there is almost a peach tone to it. What I mean to say is that it is not a harsh orange shade.
This is a lovely creme shade and it quite nice to apply, but you have got to be careful because it can look streaky. I used 3 light coats here. I got a good 3 days wear out of this before it started to chip like crazy :( stupid work! Ruins my nails!

I love IsaDora!

I first discovered IsaDora cosmetics about a year and a half ago, when a small stand appeared in my nearest Debenhams. I am not a big bronzer fan but having never came across a shade selection like this coupled with the generous sized compact, I could not resist it. The bronzer cost I think £25.00 and I really do love it. It just adds the nicest glow without being orange. There is an incredibly subtle shimmer in it, but you won't be running around like a glitterball. As you can see also, I have barely made a dent in this thing!

So, while on the lookout for a nice, everyday foundation I thought I would give IsaDora another go. This is their latest offering, Wake Up Make Up. I chose the shade Sand, which is the second lightest. It's a little too light for me at the moment, because I am wearing fake tan! But generally I save this one for those dreary mornings when I am heading out to work and I need something to make me look a little more alive!

I am not really a fan of "glowy" foundations, and thankfully this isn't really one, but it does have skin brightening properties. It is incredibly lightweight and creamy, and it gives the most smoothest finish. Coverage is decent although luckily my skin has really been behaving itself lately and I don't really have any blemishes to hide. I got this for £16.00 which is apparently an introductory offer. I am not sure of the RRP.

So...during one of my regular visits to Debenhams this weekend I once again wandered past the IsaDora stand. Thanks to the wonderful sales lady there I ended up with this gorgeous little purse with three nail polishes in here!

I am a massive fan of IsaDora Sugar Crush, which I wore basically every day over summer. I have not tried any other polishes from this brand but I am majorly impressed with these three! Gold Sparkles is the most beautiful shade ever. I have never tried crackle polishes before so of course I had to give it a go to try and recreate the leopard print look!

I just did my ring fingers as an accent nail alongside Barry M Grapefruit, I think it looks really well!

So, with my small collection of IsDora cosmetics, I have to say I think they are an incredible brand and are reasonably priced too. The only thing is that I cannot seem to find anywhere that sells IsaDora online, and I know that they do not feature in every Debenhams. If you are lucky enough to have an IsaDora stand near you, I highly recommend you check them out, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
